As per projections of the Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee (AWPFC), shorn wool production is estimated at 341 million kilograms for 2014-15, flat from the 2013-14 season. “This reflects a small drop in shorn sheep numbers offset by higher average fleece weights,” Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWIL) said in a press release. In case of greasy wool, the production forecast for the 2014/15 season is 341 million kilograms, again the same as the 2013/14 season estimate.
