Lufeng Co, part of Luthai Textile Co Ltd one of China’s biggest textiles and garments producers, has expanded its dyeing and finishing production line by adding a newly launched Monforts Thermex 6500 continuous dyeing range; offering substantial reductions in dyeing times, chemicals, energy and water consumption.
The new Thermex 6500 was introduced by Monforts only last year and can handle fabrics of up to 1.8m, at which the machine capacity is 45m; one of the deciding factors for Lufeng.

Target Corporation announced a partnership with Prabal Gurung – one of the most-celebrated designers in fashion – to introduce a limited-edition collection of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including handbags, shoes and jewelry. The collection will be available Feb. 10 through March 23, 2013, or while supplies last, at all Target stores and Target.com.

The private company HOdo Group Co Ltd, a textile and garment company in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, is looking to expand its presence in Sihanoukville, a province in southern Cambodia, in an attempt to diversify its business.
Zhou Haijiang, president of the company, said it has made hefty investments since 2007 to establish the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in the Prey Nob district. The project now occupies three square kilometers and is expected to be eventually expanded to 11 sq km.

It has been forecast that the cotton area in Brazil could shrink between 20.2-27.4%, which has led to producers refraining from closing new trades, according to the national company for food supply, Conab.
The company said the area may reduce to between 1.012 and 1.112 million hectares, which would result in a production between 1.49 and 1.63 million tonnes, 21.2% and 13.4% lower, respectively, compared to the crop before.
It added that Brazilian inventories at the end of the 2012/13 seaso
