  • The West Bengal government will set up a Silk Park in Malda district, Small Scale Industry and Textile Commissioner Prasanta Bhattacharyay said today. The Silk Park would be set up at Madhu Ghat, about 10 km from here, on an 18 acre land belonging to the sericulture department. The Planning Commission has already sanctioned Rs 39 crore for this purpose, he said. A filature unit where silk spinning had been done was there on the land but now it is closed.
